- Does my pre-LCI F30 have Xenon or Adaptive Xenon?
- Check option codes 522 (Xenon) and 524 (Adaptive Headlights). Pre-LCI F30 (2012–2015) was available with halogen, Xenon (HID with separate ballast), or Adaptive Xenon (swiveling). Full LED was LCI-only (2016+). The headlight housing itself differs: halogen housings have an exposed bulb shroud, Xenon has the projector lens, Adaptive adds the swivel motor visible behind the lens.
- Will F30 LCI full-LED headlights retrofit to pre-LCI?
- Yes — but it's a full retrofit project. You need both LED headlights, the LED-spec wiring harness, FRM3 module from an LCI car (or recoded FRM2), and full coding. The hardware fits, but BMW deliberately made the swap non-trivial. Listings note which generation the headlights came from.
- What's the difference between F30 and F31?
- Same platform, different body. F30 is the 4-door sedan; F31 is the wagon (Touring). Nearly every interior part, electronics module, head unit, and amplifier interchanges between the two. Differences are mostly tailgate hardware, rear-cabin trim, and the load-floor assembly.
- Do these parts fit BMW xDrive (AWD) models?
- Most interior, infotainment, lighting, and bodywork parts are identical between RWD and xDrive variants of the same chassis. xDrive-specific differences are concentrated in the transmission tunnel, drivetrain, and ABS hardware. Listings explicitly call out drivetrain-specific fitment in the spec table.
