FAQ

BMW E90 head units & radios — FAQ

Did my E90 ship with CCC or CIC?
E90 production split: CCC was original equipment in 2005–2008 cars (Professional Navigation option). CIC arrived in September 2008 production and ran through end of E90 in 2013. Pre-September-2008 cars universally use CCC; post that date use CIC if optioned with navigation. The dash bezel and CID size also differ — CIC introduced the wider 8.8" screen option.
Can I upgrade my E90 CCC to CIC?
Yes, popular retrofit. You need: CIC head unit, CIC-spec CID (or your existing screen if compatible), CIC iDrive controller, wiring adapter (CCC → CIC pinout), and full E-Sys coding. Plan for a weekend project plus coding from a BMW indie if you don't have E-Sys experience.
Will an E90 head unit fit an E92 coupe?
Yes — E90, E91, E92, and E93 share the same dash architecture and head-unit hardware. Coding is car-specific (VIN-linked), so swapping requires recoding to the new VIN. The physical install and connector are identical across the E9x family.
Do these parts fit BMW xDrive (AWD) models?
Most interior, infotainment, lighting, and bodywork parts are identical between RWD and xDrive variants of the same chassis. xDrive-specific differences are concentrated in the transmission tunnel, drivetrain, and ABS hardware. Listings explicitly call out drivetrain-specific fitment in the spec table.
What if the part doesn't fit my BMW?
Every listing ships with eBay's Money Back Guarantee. If a part arrives that doesn't match its stated fitment, you're covered by eBay for a full refund — return shipping included. Confirm your OEM part number against the listing before ordering to avoid the round trip.
